Pure coincidence: the image shows the Jeff Rowland Consonance (model) preamp on top of the Consonance (brand) CD player.
An incredibly lucid and airy sounding player that has a tube output. It is however not tubey in the sense that it is warm and cuddly. Instead, it is fast, bright and open. It is high on fluidity but the bass is very thin and the sound doesn’t project much outside of the speakers. Also, the dynamics are somewhat restrained. Altogether a player with many plus sides but it has to be combined with care.
