Very fluid, creamy-warm and relaxed player. An almost Naim-untypical fullness of sound giving the player a typical “analog” feel. It has full, deep bass but it can lack pitch definition, making the bass somewhat woolly, but nevertheless, this is a very musical and engaging player that sounds like a Meridian 506.24, but with even more “balls”. Even though this particular CDX was purchased new by a friend, it was a few years old and might have gone off spec, which would explain the slower than usual (for Naim) sound.
