Below is a summary of the Media Room and its operational components in June 2024.
The cinema part of the room was already complete, but the back wall behind the Genelecs was still a work in progress. Recently, I added what will be close to the final touches in the shape of four ArtNovion Douro W diffusers. Before installing them, I removed the two square white panels, which are pieces of Akotherm. While these panels were helpful in the beginning to combat flutter echo, their function was diminished after installing the T Akustik diffusers. Nevertheless, as I found when removing them before installing the 4 Douro panels, a strong flutter echo returned, confirming their usefulness up until this point.
When I also added the four ArtNovion panels, the Akotherm panels were covered entirely and likely entirely superfluous. Naturally, I took extensive measurements during all of this, and they confirmed that the Akotherm had no more beneficial effects, which is good. Thus, I could attach the top two T Akustik diffusers and the ArtNovion Diffusers directly to the rear wall.
